I Went On The Mirror Side

Oh, yes I did! Hot Stuff do hear that? Can you Believe it? It was a small baby step, but a step.

I went over to a couple of ladies who also have kids in the PE class at the Y. Same ones I did the pilates class and the spin class with. One of them handed me a five lb weight so I could start working off my muffin top. Of course they were just talking about their muffin tops. They never actually told me that I had a muffin top. I think it was implied that we all have muffin tops. So I climbed on the I don't know what you call it and did some side extension working on my obliques (I mean muffin top)

It was fun venturing to the other side of the gym. Why haven't I done that sooner? Could it be all the boys with giant muscles looking at themselves in the mirror? I thought that was the reason. Then today I realized the real reason is the GIANT MIRROR. I don't know about you, but when I'm exercising I feel more physically fit. So I think of myself as having a physically fit body. Makes perfect sense to me. Then you see yourself in the GIANT MIRROR. All of the sudden reality smacks you in the face. Or should I just say my face. reality smacked me in my face. My booty is that big? I don't want to think I'm that big.

I suppose it is good to have reality checks. I will brave it again and use the I don't know what you call it to reduce my muffin tops. Who knows what other things I might end up doing. Watch out World!

BTW all the boys in my house want to know what a muffin top is. I think they want to eat some! Just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about. It is the bulge that hangs over your waistband, particularly at the sides.

Get out their Girls and be brave!

  1. I've never been so proud! You will enjoy the free weights, much less limiting that the machines. You will also realize that your form sucks because you've been relying on the machine too much:) Free weights make you feel even stronger because you ARE watching yourself. You realize how much you can actually lift. I personally love them.
Although today I didn't get a workout in, oldest child had an 8 am dr. apptmt.

  3. Friday- Not sure if you are posting today and I've made a pact with myself to stay off of the computer all day and work around the house.
I walked the neighborhood for 20 minutes this morning, but it was so muggy. Then I came home and did 30 Day Shred while hubby wathced the kids. He couldn't believe I could sweat so much:)
