Goals

I thought I would take this time to remind you all of our goal.

*Exercise for at least 30min 5 days each week (Our week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday)

You pick the exercise and you can even divide it into two 15min or three 10min--Whatever works for you and your schedule. I've personally chosen not to count household activities as my exercise. Example, moving all furniture out of a room and replacing floors. But that is just me. I'm trying to set aside time for me and make me more of a priority.

That is really the only goal. Pretty simple and straight forward.

Now I have decided on an additional goal for myself. Please feel free to join me. For me this won't be easy. It might be harder than actually exercising. Some of you may already do this and it is no big deal. Drum Roll Please.....

*Not eating after 8:30pm 5 nights per week

Yikes, I said it. I typed it. It is official. I'm scared!

Deep breath. It is only for 3 weeks. I can do this. And it is only 5 nights not 7.
But this will be haaaaard. Hot Honey works late at night and I find myself snacking with him. The reality is that I'm just tired and instead of putting myself to bed. I hang out and eat cereal--like the Captain Crunch we have hidden from the kids. We're so sneaky. But it will be much harder to sneak now since they go to bed at 8:30.

I'm not ready to make any huge eating changes, but I'm hoping this one small change will make a difference in my jean size.

If you want to join me in this new goal, leave a comment.

  1. Got in a solid hour at the gym this morning. Wanted to do 30 day shred this afternoon, but I need to do Bible Study questions for tomorrow so it probably won't happen. Also went bike riding on Saturday with the family for an hour.
Don't think I will even try the 8:30 eating goal, I am sure to fail. Hubby gets home too late and we have decided that eating together is something important to us because that's when we talk about the day. I am going to make it a goal to have our dinner ready earlier so we aren't eating even later. We'll see how that goes and if it helps move up our eating time.

  2. I'm back!!! I've been off for two weeks now, giving my back time to heal. Kevin was sweet and bought me the Biggest Loser Yoga DVD. I figured I should start back slow and easy. I tried the DVD when I got home tonight and I really liked it. I looked very ackward and silly and found out that I have very little upper body strength. Now, my back is screaming a little, so I'll need to take it even easier tomorrow.

As far as adding something new, I think I'm just going to stick to getting back on track. I need to refocus my mind. Life has been throwing a lot at us right now and I need to refocus myself on my health.

Frosty, I'm dying to hear what your new goal is...

Hot Mama, good luck with your goal. I know that you can do it. I'm with Mama Chick. My hubby and I eat on the later side, most nights of the week.

  4. Went to the gym today and swam for 30 min - laps and then working on flip turns. Want something to make you feel silly - try twisting around in the pool trying to get facing the right way and feet against the wall. Several times my feet went straight into the air or I pushed off into the wrong lane. Good thing it wasn't very busy.

Hot Mama I wish I could join you on the eating front, but with my work schedule I would have a problem since I don't eat "lunch" until 10pm and "dinner" is snacking on the drive home at 3am. I'd probably lose a lot of weight though :)

Still working on the logistics of my goal, I'll keep you posted.

  5. I loved the Yoga video, but my back was still throbing a little today. So, I decided to take Lexi for a walk today. We did our normal 2 times around. We had to go a little slower than usual, but we did it. Hope everyone had a great day!
